SRINAGAR: Welcoming the move of divisional administration to close down the unregistered coaching centers of the valley after directions from the High court, G N Var, chairman coaching centers association on Friday cautioned the administration not to harass the registered coaching centers.
On Thrusday, 6 coaching centres were closed in the Srinagar city namely Dar’s commerce and management studies; Glorious vision centre of mathematics, professor’s academy Gulshan nagar, Ashraf sir’s coaching centre and professional institute nowgam.
“My coaching centre is fully registered and even after sealing of the institute, I called ADC and he also confirmed my registration and assured to open it today but Tehsildar is dilly dallying it,” said owner of Professional institute Nowgam.
Similar complaints were received from Sopore also regarding few coaching centres including HiTech coaching centre which are said to be registered but were closed down. Terming the sealing of registered coaching centres as unfortunate, G N Var said:
“There are 4 unregistered coaching centers operating in Nowgam including Success Dot com, International English academy, Fardays and Friend’s Institute but were not sealed after scores were settled in private with checking squad.” He added: “we are not against sealing unregistered; even welcome that but why state is harassing registered centers. There are more than 200 unregistered coaching centres operating in valley.”
On Contacting Director school education, Showkat Beigh said: “We will review the decision on Monday.”
