Jammu and Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum Sunday impressed upon all general line teachers not to support any strike call given by any forum for complete lockout of schools.
They said, “Everybody has a right to put forth the genuine demands in a proper democratic way without taking the student community on a ride.”
The JKGLTF criticized the “dual policy, double standards and irresponsible statements “of some politicians.
“They are politicizing the innovate step taken by Chief Minister and education minister to set the ailing education sector on right track,” said Anwar Hussain, President JKGLTF.
He said that such strategies have a detrimental effect on the society.
Anwar said, “We condemn the wrong policies and politically motivated decisions taken by the previous government which not only created a wedge in the teaching community but also maligned the image of political gains.”
They condemned the forcible closure of schools and attack on teachers on duty and reminded the teacher community that “we never gave call for lockout of schools.”
