A first quarter final round of Shirin-Saaz Te Awaaz was held today n which 10 schools from districts Bandipora, Budgam and Anantnag participated.
According to a statement issued here, the performances were exquisite and the audiences were spell bound. Every performance was worth watching and students showcased their hard work and talent in a brilliant manner.
“As we are reaching close to the semi finals, the competition is getting tough and students are leaving no stone unturned to give their best,” organizers said. “The judges for today were Prof Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat who is the famous Singer of the valley and Mohamad Khalil alias Mastaan who performed the Qawali on stage.”
Prof. Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat in his address to the audience he said that the initiative should have been taken by the government but credit goes to DPS Athwajan, which took the initiative to promote Kashmiri music in the valley.
Competition here was very intense and we had to judge the performances minutely. He explained elaborated every team, its good qualities as well as their flaws, which made the teams understand their performances and music very well.
In today’s event we had 50 principals as guests, two from each district of the state who attended Shirin – Saaz Te Awaaz and thoroughly enjoyed the event.
