Private ration ghat Storekeepers stage protest

Private ration ghat storekeepers Thursday staged protest demonstration, beating drums in Press Enclave.
They demanded implementation of cabinet order passed in October 2014 which ordered their regularization. “We provided food to whole Kashmir but our own kids are thrown out of schools because we have no fee to pay for them. We have been without salaries,” said Tariq Hazari, President of Private ration Ghat storekeepers.
They also demanded releasing of their dues pending for 14 months.
In total, there are nearly 3200 private ration shopkeepers. They have been working as private storekeepers since 2004 with no fixed monthly salary but only 5 percent as commission. If the order is implemented, then would be given Rs 4500 monthly.
“Ministers would announce 50 kgs rice for public but would provide us only 30 kgs and made us accused in public eye,” protesting members said. They raised slogans against the CAPD Minister and Director.
They said if government would not implement the order then they would take Employees joint action committee into confidence and would do state wide strike.
